Re: [Rant Mode On] Government Parasites
by Anonymous
And I thought the difference between the UK and the US was that the government there is afraid of the people and here we are afraid of the government. Well we aren't afraid of our government here. We are a bit too much afraid of each other in the US. In myexperience the police have been rescuers and problem solvers and the more we have the better things are. We have a difficult child and who used to have terrible tantrums and we had to call the police. All the times we dealt with them, they were remarkable, understanding and quite capable of calming her down when we couldn't. Thankfully it was because of the wrong prescription medication the doctors gave her and this does not happen anymore. When we were robbed in St. Louis several times in one month, the police stayed with me and my kids a whole evening while we waited for a locksmith to open our stolen car that they found in a matter of minutes, joking with our kids and being generally wonderful to us.
